Doubletree by Hilton, Oslo closed

Doubletree by Hilton, Oslo - the only Hilton hotel in Norway closed Monday August 13th. 2012.
Doubletree by Hilton, Oslo City Center was located at the 2nd to 5th floor in Stortingsgaten 16, the historic building that once housed Det Norske Teatret, and offered single, - double, and deluxe-rooms, all facing the Spikersuppa (Eidsvolls Plass) Park.
- We can confirm that Hilton Hotels has terminated the franchise deal for our Oslo Hotel, and the Doubletree by Hilton Oslo has been removed from all reservation-systems worldwide, said  European head of Public Relations Jules Kerby, to Aftenposten, Norway's largest newspaper.
This happens, ironically in Norway, once the home of the Hilton family, before they left for the United States. None of the large American hotel chains have considered Norway interesting for business. I do not know what contribution they would have made, but we have proved that we can live without them.
