Acommodation in Oslo for under €100

For tourists, Oslo is an extremely expensive city to stay. Hotel prices are among the highest in Europe, but there are exceptions. Recently I discovered Gjestehuset Lovisenberg, offering hotel rooms from €65 and up.

Gjestehuset Lovisenberg is located at Diakonissehuset, a hospital founded in 1868. The new hospital was opened in 1887. Norwegian Jews were sheltered here, at Diakonissehuset during the Second World War until the liberation in 1945.

At Gjestehuset Lovisenberg, you can get rooms with shared bath from NOK 500 (€65 / $88), and if want your own bath, rates start at NOK 800 (€103/$141). Dronningrommet (The Queens's room), the biggest room will cost you NOK 950 (€122/$168).

These rates applies for one guest in a room.  price for a second guest in the double rooms is 200 NOK.


Breakfast and the use of wireless internet are included in the price for all rooms.

Gjestehuset Lovisenberg is located 15-20 minute walk from the city centre, and there are several bus stops nearby.
