Gourmet food at budget price by Placa Reial

My good friend, colleague Lena Holmström visited Barcelona this fall. When she returned she handed over a business card as she announced that she had found THE place to eat in the Catalan capital.

Placa Reial is among the most beautiful squares I know. Located by the famous La Rambla, Barcelona's most famous pedestrian area, you are in the middle of tourist trap land.

In spite of this, I have had a few very good eating experiences here, but most have been over priced and mediocre. I have had an excellent meal at Santamonica, but was slightly disappointed by Les Quinze Nits.

Lena and her partner ran into La Crema Canela, and she returned home and declared that it was the best experience they had in Barcelona - at a budget price.

For those of you that plan a trip to Barcelona coming months, it may be an idea to drop in and test the food, and see whether you agree with Lena.
